Forbes magazine has released its new list of 2,000 largest companies in the world, which includes three banks from Vietnam.
The 13th annual Global 2000 ranks the world’s most powerful public companies based on revenues, profits, assets and market value.
Vietinbank, the country’s largest bank with $30.9 billion worth of assets, entered the list for the fourth consecutive year. It dropped 48 spots from last year, ranking at number 1,902.
The other Vietnamese banks made the list for the first time.

Vietcombank places at number 1,985, with assets of $26.9 billion. It however has the highest market value among the three lenders, estimated at $4.4 billion.
Last year, Petro Vietnam Gas entered the list at number 1,651 but dropped out this year.
This year’s Global 2000 companies come from 61 economies and have combined revenues of $39 trillion, profits of $3 trillion, with assets worth $162 trillion, and a market value of $48 trillion, according to a Forbes report.
