Official data last week showed that China produced 952.14 million tons of crude steel in the first 11 months of 2023, up 1.5% year-on-year.
The country also exported 82.66 million tons of steel products this year, the highest since 2016 and more than previously forecast.

Guan Zhijie, deputy general engineer at MPI, said China's steel exports next year may decline slightly due to slowing economic growth abroad.
