By 10:30, the upward momentum had not stopped. SJC gold bars continued to increase by 400,000 VND per tael, officially exceeding the 77 million VND mark. At SJC and DOJI, the price of gold bars increased to 76.2 - 77.2 million VND per tael.

By late afternoon, the price of gold bars fell below the 77 million range. SJC listed in the afternoon buying 75.8 million VND, selling 76.8 million VND, down to half a million VND compared to the peak set in the morning. DOJI also lowered the price of gold to 75.7 - 77 million VND, widening the buying and selling gap.

Thus, from the beginning of the week until now, each amount of gold bars has increased by nearly 3 million VND, equivalent to an increase of more than 3.9%. Compared to the beginning of this year, SJC gold bars have increased by more than 10 million VND per tael, equivalent to an increase of 15% - double the bank savings interest rate.

Domestic gold prices increase faster than the world's, causing the gap between the two markets to tend to widen.

On the international market, each ounce of spot gold also increased by 17 USD to nearly 2,050 USD. If converted according to the Vietcombank exchange rate (not including taxes and fees), the world gold price is equivalent to 60.5 million VND per tael, 2.35 million VND lower than gold rings and 16.7 million VND lower than the price of gold. pieces.

When the price of gold bars increased "hotly" in March last year, domestic gold bars sometimes fluctuated by more than 20 million VND per tael compared to the world price. This is explained by experts, due to the disconnect between gold bars and the international market when the supply of SJC gold bars is monopolized by the state and has not increased for ten years.

Ms. Le Thuy Hang, General Director of SJC, once explained that the amount of gold on the market is still very small. There are times when raw material prices and SJC gold prices are lower than or equal to the prices of domestic brands that cook SJC's gold bars to produce rings and jewelry. In particular, in 2019, a lot of gold was exported abroad, so the amount of SJC gold on the market today is very little.

"The current supply is absent while market demand is still there, thus creating a price difference compared to world gold," Ms. Hang said.
